KENYA, eager to end more than a decade watching the continent's prime football competition from the sidelines, faces a tricky encounter away to Comoros in the qualifiers of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Africa Cup of Nations.
The second leg is scheduled for Moroni on Friday.
Kenya carry an assuring lead into the match having won by the slenderest of margins in Nairobi about a fortnight ago.
There are a number of permutations that would seal Kenya's qualification to the next round or deal such hopes a blow.
If the hosts beat the Harambee Stars by an identical 1-0 they suffered in Nairobi in the first leg, the match will be decided by extra time with the possibility of a penalty shootout.
A draw will seal Kenya's qualification to the next stage.
A victory will be a bonus for the Kenyans as it would ensure qualification by convincing margin over the two legs.
Kenya can still qualify on away goals rule if they lose with a one-goal provided there are goals in the match.
Kenya last played in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2004 in Tunisia.
They bowed out in the first round after finishing third behind Mali and Senegal but ahead of Burkina Faso.
On Friday, the team will again be called to depend on the scoring prowess of Johanna Omollo, who scored the crucial goal in Nairobi fortnight ago.
The Harambee Stars reported a clean bill of health ahead of the crucial encounter.
