Six injured aftr tree falls on a matatu

Six passengers were injured on Thursday morning when a tree fell on a matatu they were travelling in.

The matatu, plying the Banana- Nairobi route, was carrying 13 passengers when the incident happened.

The incident occurred along Limuru road near Runda estate. The tree fell on the vehicle crushing its rooftop.

Gigiri police boss Vitalis Otieno said the injured were taken to hospital and the tree removed from the road.

“It was an unfortunate incidence that saw one passenger critically injured and five others slightly injured,” he added.

The falling of the tree was blamed on the Wednesday evening heavy downpour in the city.
