Kimaiyo sacks top security officials

Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo has announced the sacking of Mpeketoni OCS Aden Ali in a tweet that also suggested that he could be charged. According to Kimaiyo, several other security officials including the County Police Commander Leonard Omollo, a Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Police, a Mr Bonaya, and top AP official, a Mr Rashid, have been interdicted. Elsewhere, two people were under interrogation at the Administration Police headquarters in Mpeketoni over the Sunday massacre. Ahmed Abdalla, the alleged owner of the two vans, reportedly used by the attackers recorded a statement together with one of his drivers Salim Dyana.
