Internationally known Bahamian preacher and motivational speaker Myles Munroe has died in a plane crash, according to news reports. Munroe and nine others, including his wife, died as their Lear jet tried to land in Grand Bahama Island.

“His work in extending Christ’s Kingdom in our generation was exemplary and world changing,” said Billy Wilson, president of Oral Roberts University, where Munroe attended seminary, as NBC reported.

Forbes reported that Munroe’s daughter Charisa also died in the crash.

Munroe, 60, was the author of dozens of books with titles like “Understanding The Purpose And Power Of Prayer” and “Unlock Your Potential: Becoming Your Best You.” His theology combined Christianity with the power of self-realization.

“God needs humans in order for him to interfere in Earth,” Munroe said at a conference earlier this year. ” … Therefore, nothing on Earth can happen without the cooperation of a human. That’s how powerful you are.”

Munroe was honored by Queen Elizabeth with an Order of the British Empire in 1998.

Former United Nations ambassador Andrew Young, who often appeared with Munroe, offered “condolences to the Monroe family and the families of the other souls who lost their lives as a result of this shocking plane crash” in a statement, as Forbes reported.

“Dr. Munroe died living out his purpose in life; spreading the gospel of Christ,” the magazine wrote.

An investigation is expected to begin Monday.
