NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 22 – A camp that was being used by attackers who executed 28 Kenyans travelling in bus on Saturday morning in Mandera has been destroyed by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).
Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph ole Lenku says the camp inside Somalia but near the Kenya border was destroyed using helicopters and jets by KDF with reports of ‘many’ attackers killed.
Lenku said the operation will continue until all the criminals who carried out the heinous act are dealt with.
“I want to confirm that immediately the government swung into action through the KDF and pursued the attackers and I can categorically confirm that already some offensive action has been taken, and we will continue to make sure we bring to justice those responsible,” Lenku affirmed.
Addressing the media in Nairobi, the CS sent condolences to the friends and families of the Kenyans who lost their loved ones who included 19 men and nine women.
