Despite missing a host of star players including Oscar Ayodi, Leonard Mugaisi and Bush Mwale, the deejays proved too strong for the varsity lads.
Max Kangeri opened the scoring early in the match when he split open the students' defence to touch down and convert his own try for a 7-0 lead.
Kangeri then turned provider for second try off-loading the ball to Humphrey Mulama who crossed the line and Kangeri made no mistake slotting home the conversion for a 14-0 lead.
The students fought back and had spell of possession but were guilty of wrong decisions on the muddy surface, which was made worse by the falling rain. Alvin Otieno then dived at the corner for the third try on the stroke of half time for a 19-0 lead.
On resumption, Mulama showed the students' defence a clean pair of heels to touch down for an unconverted try to close out the scoring.
Homeboyz made light work of Welsh Warriors 24-7 as KEMU eliminated Thika RFC 19-12 in the semi-finals.
Homeboyz coach Paul Murunga was encouraged by the performance, saying it was inspiring ahead of the Kenya Cup League, which starts in a fortnight.
"I'm encouraged by the performance of the team we got knocked out of the floodlights last weekend but the boys have bounced back to win the tournament" added Murunga.
He said the team will be stronger once the Kenya Sevens boys return from their break. " We have shown we have depth and once the likes of Mugaisi, Mwale and Michael Wanjala Junior return, we will be stronger," he added.
Murunga said the goal for the season is to qualify for the Kenya Cup semis after near misses in the last two years. "We have been knocking on that door for the past two years and now our aim is to reach the semi-finals and from there you never know," added Murunga. Homeboyz pocketed Sh100,000 for the win with the students going home with Sh50,000.
