Kenyan and Somali soldiers have killed five suspected terrorist bombers attempting to cross into the country in a car laden with explosives and suicide vests.

Security forces had been tracking the car - which was carrying 100 kilograms of TNT - after it tried to enter Kenya at another border point.

The five killed are suspected members of the Somali militant group al-Shabab, which is allied to al-Qaeda.
